Weesho Lapara (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a technical documentation and content studio based in Sydney, Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you visit weesholapara.com, get in touch with us, or work with us as a client.
It also covers Weesho Lapara Blog Bot, an internal tool we use to plan articles for our own blog. The Blog Bot doesn’t collect information from website visitors or clients. Its use of Google data is described separately in section 9.
1. Information we collect
When you contact us or book a call. We collect the details you give us, such as your name, email address, company, role, and anything you tell us about your project.
When you subscribe to our newsletter. We collect your email address and a record of your subscription.
When you download a resource. When you request a resource such as our docs modernisation guide, we collect your email address so we can send it to you. We may also send you follow-up emails related to the resource and our services. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
When you apply to write for us. We collect the information in your application, such as your name, contact details, writing samples, and professional background.
When you work with us. During a project, clients may share information such as product documentation, technical specifications, source code, and access to documentation tools or systems. This may include names and contact details of your team members.
When you browse our website. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. It collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, the website that referred you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (such as city or country). Google Analytics doesn’t give us information that identifies you personally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Cookies. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and our website will still work.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and schedule discovery calls
- prepare proposals and deliver the services you engage us for
- send newsletters you’ve subscribed to
- assess writing applications
- manage invoicing and client records
- understand and improve our website
- meet legal and regulatory obligations
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it for purposes unrelated to why you gave it to us without asking you first.
3. Client materials and confidentiality
We treat information clients share during a project as confidential. We use it only to deliver the agreed services, limit access to the people working on your project, and follow any additional confidentiality terms in your agreement with us.
Where we use AI tools to help produce documentation or content, we do so only in ways agreed with you, and we don’t allow client material to be used to train those tools.
4. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to provide their services. These include:
- Cloudflare, which hosts our website
- Microsoft Booking, which manages call bookings
- Google Analytics, which collects website usage data
- Waveapps, which does invoicing and accounting
We may also disclose information where required by law.
5. Storing information overseas
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled in line with this policy.
6. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Client project materials are kept or returned as set out in the client agreement.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to accounts, and storing access credentials securely.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing support@weesholapara.com. We’ll respond within a reasonable time.
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your information, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
9. Weesho Lapara Blog Bot
Weesho Lapara Blog Bot is an internal tool used only by Weesho Lapara to plan and research articles for our own blog. It isn’t offered to customers or the public. No website visitor, client, or other third party signs in to it or connects their own Google account. Read more on the Weesho Lapara Blog Bot page.
Weesho Lapara Blog Bot data collection
The Blog Bot connects to two Google APIs using Weesho Lapara’s own Google account. Through them it collects:
From the Google Ads API (Keyword Planner):
- estimated monthly search volumes for keywords we look up
- related keyword suggestions
- advertiser competition levels for those keywords
- top-of-page bid estimates for those keywords
From the Google Search Console API (read-only):
- search queries that show weesholapara.com in Google Search
- the pages of weesholapara.com that appear for those queries
- clicks, impressions, and average position for those queries and pages
What the Blog Bot doesn’t collect:
- personal information about individual people who search. Both sources return aggregated data only.
- email, contacts, calendar entries, files, or any other data in the Google account
- information about visitors to our website or about our clients
The Blog Bot’s access is read-only. It doesn’t create, change, or delete anything in Google Ads or Search Console.
Weesho Lapara Blog Bot data usage
We use the data collected above only to:
- judge whether a proposed blog topic has enough search demand to be worth writing about
- find related search terms worth covering in an article
- check a proposed topic against our published articles so we don’t publish pages that compete with each other
- decide which search term a new article should focus on
- see how our published articles perform in Google Search
- review whether the thresholds we use to accept or reject topics are set sensibly We don’t use this data for advertising, for profiling anyone, or to develop, improve, or train generalised AI or machine learning models. We don’t combine it with information collected from website visitors or clients.
Weesho Lapara Blog Bot data storage and protection
- Access credentials are stored as encrypted secrets with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and are never included in logs or messages.
- Results are cached temporarily in Cloudflare storage to avoid repeated requests: keyword data for up to 30 days, search performance data for up to 24 hours, and summaries of search results for up to 14 days. Cached data then expires and is deleted automatically.
- Summaries of each published article’s target search terms are kept for as long as the article is published, so we can avoid overlapping content.
- All data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
Weesho Lapara Blog Bot data sharing
We don’t sell this data or transfer it to data brokers or information resellers. It’s processed by the service providers that run the Blog Bot, only so they can provide their part of it:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the Blog Bot and its storage
- Anthropic and Google, whose AI models process search terms and search performance data to help us research and draft our blog articles
- Telegram, which delivers the Blog Bot’s reports to a private chat we control
Limited Use
Weesho Lapara Blog Bot’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Revoking access
Because the Blog Bot uses only Weesho Lapara’s own Google account, access can be revoked at any time from the Google Account permissions page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Cached data then expires on the schedule above.
